The iconic music recognition app Shazam has received a long-awaited update to their service. Shazam can now scan and identify music playing within other apps including social media and video streaming. Simply tap the blue button in Shazam and switch back to the app you were using. It now easier than ever to find that TikTok song that has been stuck in your head!

Youtube has announced new features to their 'Shorts' platforms. The new features include; being able to 'remix' others existing videos through a split screen format, added effects and stickers such as a Q&A sticker, vertical live videos, and more! These new features provide artists with more opportunities to connect with their audience.

The Recording Academy has revealed its key dates and deadlines for the upcoming 2024 GRAMMYs which we will held on February 4 2024. Submissions are now open until August 31st, with the nominees to be announced on November 10th.

The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is an annual song contest whose mission is to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena. The competition covers a large range of genres including; AAA (Adult Album Alternative), AC (Adult Contemporary), Americana, Blues, Children's Music, Christian, Comedy/Novelty, Country, EDM (Electronic Dance Music), Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Hip-Hop/Rap, Instrumental, Jazz, Latin Music, Lyrics Only, Music Video, Performance, Pop/Top 40, R&B/Soul, Rock, Teen, Unpublished, Unsigned, and World Music.

Recognition and Awards: Just like the Grammy Association, the IMIA will hold an annual awards ceremony to honor outstanding achievements in independent music. We will highlight diverse genres, celebrate independent artists' contributions, and showcase the innovation happening outside the mainstream.
